Backtracking to Khon Kean

I am pretty sure I end up driving a lot more distance than if I took an optimal route. I just twist and turn trying to hit the dots on my map and sometimes travel the same roads more than once.

Today the plan was to make it to Khon Kean making a couple stops along the way.

My first stop was at the stupa called Phrathat Ya Khu.

I found the colorful strings of yarn square an attractive site.

I stopped a bit outside of Khon Kean to see the modern temple of Wat Thung Setthi before continuing on into the city.

I arrived in Khon Kean and went straight to the Khon Kean National Museum. The museum would be closed the following day so needed to make sure I visited today.

When visiting the museum I added a site to my list of places to visit Ka Ku Sing. I was later really happy about this addition but more on that in future entries.
