I really enjoyed attending the Elephant Round Up in Surin last year so decided to attend again this year.
I have a couple of other things I would like to do in the coming weeks but sometimes find it hard to get information on events. The Bridge Festival in Kanchanaburi is coming up at the end of the month and I may go see some concerts at the event but up to now have not seen a schedule of the concerts. I was out on the motorcycle the day before heading out on the road trip and noticed a billboard of the concert schedule. I am not quick enough to take in these billboards as I zip along on my motorbike so once I was back at home I did some searchs on the internet to find the schedule but had no luck.
Sorry long story to get to the point of the start of my road trip was returning to take a picture of the billboard so I could plan when I wanted to be back in Kanchanaburi. Later that same day the concert schedule was posted on Facebook.
I save places on Google maps that look interesting to me but often I forget where I saw the place or why I saved it. When I head out on a road trip I look on the map and see what I have saved along the way. The Ganesh at Wat Pikul Thong was my first stop and not sure where I learned about this place.
Following is the short video I uploaded to YouTube while at the Temple.
I rode from the temple into Lopburi where I spent the night. After a bit of a rest in my hotel I went out for a bit of a look at the town.
I have been in Lopburi before but was surprised by the lack of monkeys. Lopburi is known as the monkey city and they used to cause all kinds of mayhem thoughout the downtown area. I didn't see a single monkey.
I did a search on Google and found they have relocated most of monkeys out of the center.
Following is a picture of Prang Khaek (เทวสถานปรางค์แขก).
Following is a photo of Phra Prang Sam Yot (พระปรางค์สามยอด).
A good first day of my latest road trip.
