Floating Train at Pa Sak Jolasid Dam

I road from Lopburi to the area at Pa Sak Jolasid Dam. I was hoping to see the floating train which is just a built up section of tracks that cuts through a part of the reservoir.

I had not done my research on this attraction and had only seen it on Facebook about train trips in SouthEast Asia. I couldn't get to the place I had pinned on the map but was in an area close to the dam where loads of Thai tourist where taking trams over the dam.

The trams didn't appear to be going in the direction of the train tracks so I didn't want to do that. I took a couple of photos over the reservoir and then looked at the map again. I found something called Floating Train at Pa Sak Jolasid Dam (รถไฟลอยน้ำ เขื่อนป่าสักชลสิทธิ์) about 16K (10 miles) away.

The place I found on the map was what I was looking for. I looked at the train schedule of the first station and it didn't appear I would get to see a train on this section of track but luckily I was wrong. Just as I was going to walk away a gentleman started clearing people off the tracks.

Check the video below for some shots of the reservoir, the tracks and the train.

I followed a road closer to the reservoir on the way back and at places along this road it reminded me of Holland. I would look to the left and see the reservoir water about the same level as the road and look down to the houses on the right that were well below the level of the road and the water.

I kept going on the road closer to the reservoir and came to a place where the train tracks passed over reservoir. I checked a number of train stations schedules and it appeared that a train might be crossing in about 10 minutes and I captured the following video.

I hopped back on the bike and went the rest of the way down this smaller road until it ran into the main road I had taken to get to the floating train spot.

I had seen a temple on Google maps when I was looking for the flooting train. Google said this was Phra Phuttaratnamani Mahabophitchalasitmongkhonchai or Luang Pu Yai Pa Sak (พระพุทธรัตนมณีมหาบพิตรชลสิทธิ์มงคลชัย หรือหลวงปู่ใหญ่ป่าสัก). What a name that is.

Google maps kept telling me to take roads that were not there but I could see the temple sometimes. I ended up going in an exit gate and found the temple.

It seems all the trams I saw when I first arrived were coming to this temple. I guess that's the reason I couldn't figure out how to get here and came in through an exit. I snapped a couple of pictures and took off before getting in trouble.

I took off ridingand and had planned on going about another hour but when I arrive at a town about 5 in the afternoon I decided to find a hotel and call it a day. I spent the night in Dan Khun Thot, Nakhon Ratchasima after another good day.
