I talked about being in Kun Han district and wanting to see a temple in my last post. I think this temple will from now on be the official temple of the Bier Voor Mij (Beer for Me) blog. Wat Pa Maha Chedi Kaew is made up of empty bottles and a lot of those bottles are beer bottles. I should have been involved in the process of building this temple or at least the part of emptying the bottles. OK a lot of the bottles are engry drink bottles but it still has a lot of beer bottles that would have kept me happy for a long time.
I proceed on for the long drive to Wat Khao Angkhan.
Damn no beer here!
Wat Khao Angkhan is supposed to be on top an extinct volcano and has some pretty views from the area around the temple.
The last temple was in the province of Buriram and I was planning on staying in the province of Sa Kaeo. I was about 45 minutes to an hour away from where I planned to stop for the night when the prayers of the rockets were answered and the rain came down. I stopped a couple of times but continued through the rain until I reached the the Watthana Nakhon district of Sa Kaeo and stayed in the same hotel as when I returned from Surin almost a year ago.
The road the GPS takes me on from Sa Kaeo to Pattaya is one I would rather avoid. It has just way too many big trucks and is not much fun for a small motorbike. I made the trip without any issues other than the rockets working their magic when I was about an hour away from home and blessing me with wet clothes.
My trusty steed did great on this trip and this is the longest trip we have done together. I remembered to set the trip meter before starting this trip and took a picture to record the distance of the trip the following day before adding some kilometers when going for something to eat.
For anyone following this blog thanks for reading a bit of my boring writing and I hope you enjoy your next beer.
