Wat Yan Sang Wararam and The Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin

I first saw this impressive looking building from across the lake when I visited Viharn Sien back in July of 2021. I did not feel up to exploring it that day and it seemed to have slipped my mind. Recently I was looking at some sites on things to visit in the Pattaya area I noticed pictures of this temple and added it to a list of things I needed to do. I am good at putting things off but today felt like a good day for a bit of a ride on the motorbike.

I only visited this big building in the middle of the complex and a few of the statues close by. The temple complex is rather large and I may return someday just to walk around the gardens and visit some of the other buildings.

The inside of the building was a bit dark and even though the doors were open it just did not feel really open for visiting. I still walked around the ground floor and took this picture of one of the Buddha statues.

I think this statue is of the former King and Queen of Thailand.

The Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin was something I also saw on some web pages of tourist sites in Pattaya. Other than being an Orthodox Church and that it was opened in 2012 I don't know anything about it. I did not try the door but did not seem to be open so just took a couple of photos and hopped back on the bike and headed home.

I timed things perfect today for some reason. I stopped for lunch and it poured down rain while I ate and then cleared up and the sun came out. I played tourist for a few hours and once I arrive back at home the sky opened up and down came the rain again. All in all, a good day.
