Kamphaeng Phet (กำแพงเพชร) is a part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is included in the site called The Historic Town of Sukhothai and Associated Historic Towns. I visited Sukhothai way back in 2008.
I have been saying I am going to go visit Kamphaeng Phet since I moved to Kanchanaburi and it has only taken me about 18 months to get around to doing it. Rather than posting all the pictures in this post I put them together in a slideshow and uploaded it to Youtube.
I still need to visit the 3rd place that makes up the Associated Historic Towns (Si Satchanalai historical park) but didn't make it there on this trip. I will have to see how many years it will take me to check that site off list of places to visit.
Kamphaeng Phet is also a province in Thailand and I went through a bit of this province when I was traveling to Mae Sot.
