I have been home in Kanchanaburi for a few weeks now and not doing anything worth blogging about. I did attend two concerts at the bridge festival which I guess I could have written about. Instead of taking videos or pictures of the concerts I just enjoyed the music and atmosphere.
I often get out on the motorbike but today I decided I wanted to see someplace I haven't seen. I just clicked on a Temple on the map and off I went. In about 20 minutes I was at entrance to the temple grounds of Wat Tham Charoentham (วัดถ้ำเจริญธรรม).
I rode around the temple and thought I was missing something so looked at the pictures on google maps and went looking for the large Buddha and found it about a hundred meters behind the temple hidden from view if standing at the temple.
I climbed up the steps and enjoyed the view and some of the flowers up here.
A guardian protecting the stairs to the Buddha.
Not sure what this globe is that is in front of the temple but seems a bit different. I didn't go in the main temple building and only looked around the temple grounds.
The word cave is in the name of this temple but I never did see a cave but didn't really spend a lot of time looking. I did learn a new Thai word for me when looking for the cave that may come in handy at some point in the future สุขา is another word for toilet than the one I know.
