I heard there was going to be eclipse that was called a red moon and that it would be visible in Thailand. I thought that I should make a point to see it. The day before I went to the roof of my building and looked east and the view I had was of an enormous condo building. I did some thinking and decided the big Buddha would be the best place to get a view to the east.
I arrived about at sunset and started talking to a gentleman that had also come to see the Red Moon but he was better prepared with a nice camera with a telephoto lenses. The following moon pictures are ones that he shared with me. The pictures from my phone are just a little round dot that looks more like a smudge on the lenses than the moon. He also had an app on his phone with the placement of the moon so we knew we were looking in the correct area of the sky.
We waited about an hour and could never see the moon. Then someone finally spotted it. We had been looking in the correct place just with the haze and the eclipse it was not really easy to see. It did appear to get a bit brighter and easier to see but I found it a bit disappointing with the naked eye but was impressed with the gentleman's pictures.
I had not been up to the big Buddha at night so took a couple of pictures when leaving.
