Wat Thong Thua, Prasat Khao Noi and Prasat Sdok Kok Thom

I did not plan this trip very well but my idea was to visit some of the Khmer ruins in Thailand that I had not visited. Angkor Wat in Cambodia is the temple everyone has heard of and I visited it back in 2008. Not all the sites were not super impressive but got out on the road.

Wat Thong Thua was not on my list of places to visit but setting in the hotel in Chanthaburi I read this temple had a number of ancient Khmer sculptures so since I was in the area I decide to stop thee to start the day.

I did not find the sculptures only rain, mud and angry dogs. I cut my search short and left the dogs barking in my rear view mirrors.

I dried out on the long ride to Prasat Khao Noi and reached the small ruin at the top of the stairs at the top of a hill.

My plan was to find a hotel after Prasat Khao Noi but it was dry and I decided I would go on to Sdok Kok Thom. I visited a couple of sites I had seen before on this trip but of the new sites Prasat Sdok Kok Thom was the most impressive of the sites I visited.

I visited others sites that charged a fee and did not match Sdok Kok Thom but this one was free and the guy at the entrance seemed thrilled to have a foreigner visiting. The place I found to stay not far from the ruins also seemed thrilled to have me stay and were surprised that I made the trip all the way there from Pattaya on my 155 motorbike.
